At the north beach access point of Los Cerritos Beach sits Tasi Juice Bar, its name emblazoned on a surfboard perched atop a weathered teal coffee stand — worn in all the right ways from years of sun, wind, and sand. Decorated with real and painted bull skulls, potted plants, and surf-related odds and ends, Tasi is the quintessential coffee stop in Los Cerritos.
The menu covers all the bases: espresso drinks, fresh juices, smoothies, açaí bowls, and a small selection of pastries. The red velvet banana bread I had alongside my Americano put me in a state of bliss — muffled music drifting from a nearby surf shack, the rhythmic scrape of a board being stripped of wax, and the calm ocean stretching out in front of me. A perfect, quiet morning.

Even at 8am, the sun was strong, and I was grateful for the shade sails covering the few tables out front. Just a few miles from the Tropic of Cancer, the sun means business year-round — the covered seating makes this a genuinely comfortable place to refuel. There’s also a small, curated selection of sunglasses, jewelry, and swimsuits that I had to actively resist. Cute enough that I’d beeline back if I ever lost my sunnies.
Owner Christina shared that Tasi was born out of Covid — when the pandemic hit, she and her family left California and put down roots south of the border. A surfboard tucked under the elevated cart made it clear she never left that lifestyle behind.
Prices are on the higher side for Mexico, but make sense for a surf town with a strong expat presence. Smoothies run about 120 pesos (roughly $7 USD), and açaí bowls are closer to 200 pesos — but generously portioned and piled high with fresh fruit.
As I lingered over my coffee, the close-knit feel of the beach community became obvious. Christina’s easy familiarity with passersby and regulars made it clear that Tasi is more than a coffee stand — it’s a gathering point. Her pup sat dutifully on the cart stairs, greeting passerbys and taking in the morning while she pulled shots and greeted the usual crowd.
I only wish I’d found Tasi sooner than my last morning in Los Cerritos. The fresh juices and protein bowls will have to wait for next time. With few options for breakfast in Los Cerritos, this discovery would have been a welcome find earlier in the week.
If you’re at Los Cerritos Beach, stop here — and grab the red velvet banana bread if she has it. Or if you’re making the drive to Todos Santos or headed to the airport, Tasi is the perfect stop to fuel up before hitting the road.
