Tucked away down a dusty and impossibly bumpy road, Don Nacho is one of the best restaurants in Los Cerritos — and a favorite amongst both locals and tourists
Unlike the beachfront spots, Don Nacho has a more personal, welcoming feel — this sibling-owned and operated restaurant makes you feel at ease from the moment you arrive.
The restaurant is named after their grandfather, and a small wall pays homage to him: a pair of weathered sandals, paintings of a violin and guitar, and an old hat — the same one you can spot in a framed photograph of Don Nacho himself. Our group sat at the same table each visit, and I never got tired of looking at it.
They’re open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but I kept coming back for breakfast. The Huevos Rancheros were topped with a flavorful, chunky tomato salsa — and do yourself a favor and add the house-made chorizo. It’s listed as a side, but honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The Chilaquiles were spectacular- you’ll have the choice of red or green salsa and you can’t go wrong either way.

For something a bit lighter, get the Plato Temporada. This yogurt bowl is loaded with fresh cut fruit and topped with granola and shredded coconut.
The Agua de Maracuyá has me salivating just thinking about it — a fresh passionfruit juice so good it inspired others at the table to order one on the spot.
Being set back from the beach means more room to spread out. The sprawling property features a large open-air dining area ideal for groups and families, a stage, and plenty of seating in the garden. Massive Cardón cacti anchor the space, and I loved that the structures were built around them rather than in spite of them. This species is the tallest cactus in the world, and the ones here look well over 150 years old.

Don Nacho is one of the most beloved spots for food in El Pescadero, and it sits between Highway 19 and Los Cerritos Beach. The turnoffs from the highway are unmarked and unpaved — look for the road leading toward So Far So Good and you’re close.
Prices felt slightly more reasonable than the beachfront restaurants, which makes sense given the location. I only visited for breakfast, so I can’t speak to dinner, but mornings felt like a great value.
Don Nacho is more than just a restaurant. Regular events bring the community together — Spanish Club on Tuesdays (taught by our waiter), karaoke on Wednesdays, and bingo on Thursday nights. They recently celebrated their third anniversary with a community party featuring a DJ, buffet, and even a mechanical bull. I didn’t see that last one coming, but I love that energy.
If you’re wondering where to eat near Los Cerritos beach, look no further than Don Nacho. Even if passing through on your way to Todos Santos, it’s worth making a stop here. The hospitality is warm, and it genuinely feels like a home-cooked meal made with care. And I loved seeing what shirt our waiter would wear each day — it was always fun, always colorful.
